SCENES FROM A DRY CITY :: A Simon Wood & François Verster documentary

SCENES FROM A DRY CITY

What happens when a major metropolitan area runs out of water? In Cape Town, South Africa, in 2018 residents feared the arrival of 'Day Zero,' when the city’s taps would be shut off.

Directed by locals Simon Wood and François Verster, Scenes from a Dry City uses the lens of water to reveal cracks in Cape Town's complex social fabric.

As The Atlantic put it, the 12-minute documentary is "a deeply revealing observational portrait of a city struggling to adapt to scarcity. In many ways, it is a harbinger of things to come."
