New Moon is set in the stone town of Lamu on the north eastern coastline of Kenya. A gigantic port project and coal plant are the external elements that threaten to disrupt the rhythm of Lamu, but the real disruption in the documentary is the director's journey of self-discovery within Sufi Islam.
