DEVELOPMENT FOR AFRICA
Script-editing, talent-matching
and packaging your series
Africa.film founder Kevin Kriedemann proposed the initial idea for the Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire anthology, which went on to win Best Animated Series at the Kidscreen Awards, Best TV/Media – Limited Series at the Annie Awards, and Best Animation at the Cultural and Creative Industry Awards, among other accolades like British Animation Awards, Prix Jeunesse and Rose d’Or nominations.
Kevin developed, curated and associate produced the series with the team at Triggerfish, including executive producers Tendayi Nyeke and Anthony Silverston.
As part of this process, Kevin gave story notes on all ten short films, while learning from the filmmakers, the Kizazi Moto teams at Disney and Triggerfish, the Disney brains trust, and Oscar winner Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into The Spider Verse), who executive produced the series.
Along the way, Kevin realised that development, like PR, is about getting to the heart of your story, what it means to you, and what makes it stand out. It felt reassuringly familiar, and very fun.
Having sat through many, many pitches at Showmax; having binged every Masterclass and Maestro writing course there is; and having interviewed many of Africa’s top filmmakers as a journalist and publicist, Kevin is now looking for his next project to script-edit, talent match, and package.
